| | Yesterday I went over to Best Buy in Annapolis to get some extra RAM for my laptop, which has been running a bit slow lately. So I come home, pop it in, and my computer didn't run, no matter what I did, until I put the original memory back in. So instead of packing up the 512 megs worth of memory to take it back, me and my dad decided to try it in another laptop. This laptop had several problems, the main one being that it had so much junk on it and not enough memory to load it into that it actually crashed upon starting up. So when we put in the extra memory, bringing the total up from 256 to 768, we were actually able to let everything load up without the computer crashing, and one AdAware scan later the computer was running smoothly! Now it still has some problems, but it's much better off than before.
So, one of the easiest upgrades you can do for a computer, so easy even a casual user can do it, can not only give you a significant boost to you computer's performance, but it can even resurrect a dead computer! I just wish I can get my hands on some memory that will work in my laptop.
